Licksntrix's roots lie back in 1990, when Kerry, Gary and Steve got together, along with bassist Sean Flynn, in a band called Bad Influence. The band played all over the Midlands during the following decade, playing various reasonably prestigious venues. However, eventually Kerry grew weary of constant gigging and left the band, which then split up.

The various members of the band still met up and played together occasionally,  Gary continuing to play with bassist Sean on ovation. Kerry also playing in a number of Birmingham based rock bands. In 2006, there was something of a reunion at the Sheldon Marquee at the Chestnuts pub, which culminated in Kerry, Gary and Steve once more reuniting and recruiting bassist Lenny and lead vocalist Carl.

In 2009, old band member Sean takes up the bass roll once again.  Armed with a new set list of classic rock and up to date chart rock classics which have given a new drive to the band on stage. The band now look forward to the years ahead. Due to ill heath and unable to commit 100% to the band sean has decided to leave the band.The band would like to wish him luck for the future and he will be missed by all. The bass playing spot is now filled by friend of the group Phil the stig.  Phil has been covering Sean in his absence but now takes up a permanent spot in the band. and has added to the live sound of the band.
